Sisters and Brothers:

The Department of Labor is opening a period of Public Comment on the FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act)
While this in and of itself does not advocate specific changes to the regulations, it will most likely be a tool of the Bush Administration to rationalize changes and cutbacks to the regulation in favor of Employers.
Accordingly, we must provide the feedback for working people, as the non Unionized majority of working Americans will not be entering comments for the record. The results will be an overwhelming amount of input from Employers and not nearly enough from workers.
We need all Local Officers to seek input from our Members, their friends and family, who have had experiences, good and bad, using the FMLA, in Railroad work or prior employment.
We need to post this notice or a Locally made one seeking Member's experiences, please also discuss it at your next Local Meeting.
Please submit all comments, stories and experiences to our Office by January 22nd 2007.

Sincerely and Fraternally

Andres
